City of London (KPMG) Academy Refuses to Help Local Children

Parents and children have been massively let down by the Council, Learning Trust and new Academy Schools. We believe half empty Academies must be used to avert a school places crisis in Hackney, see our proposal.

City of London Academy Dashes Parents' Hopes
The Board of Governors of the new Academy being built in Homerton, are refusing to accommodate any aspect of parent's proposals. The Board, which includes 2 members of the City of London Corporation and 2 representatives of KPMG, but absolutely no members of the local community, believe there would be unsurmountable problems in having a year 8 intake alongside the planned year 7 intake in 2009.

It is time to tell the Learning Trust, DCSF and new academies that this is not acceptable:
